Brazil’s Tarpon Investimentos Automates Hedge Fund Operations with Charles River IMS

December 20, 2011

Charles River Development (Charles River) a front- and middle-office investment software solutions provider, today announced that Tarpon Investimentos (Tarpon), a value-oriented asset manager based in São Paulo, is live on the latest release of  the Charles River Investment Management Solution (Charles River IMS) Version 9 (V9) across its equity hedge fund operations. Tarpon is also live on the Charles River FIX Network for electronic trading via connectivity to its local preferred brokers.  Tarpon users benefit from automated portfolio management, trading and execution management, and end-to-end compliance monitoring.

Tarpon required a platform that would automate its processes, allow the firm to grow without adding internal resources, and support its unique workflows.  Charles River IMS supports Brazil’s local requirements, including CVM compliance rules and complex allocation methodologies.

“Charles River has made substantial investment in its products to meet the requirements of asset managers in Brazil - from the region’s largest government and public banks to local hedge funds like Tarpon,” said Tom Driscoll, managing director, Global, Charles River Development.  “V9’s enhanced portfolio management and integrated trade order and execution management functionality help firms streamline workflow, improve execution and lower risk.”
